How Much Does Yoga Teacher Training Cost in Rishikesh? (2026 Prices)

What each course costs at Swaastik Yog School (2026)

All fees are in US dollars, all-inclusive of stay and meals, and identical whether you book direct or through a listing site.

The 200-hour is the course most people mean when they ask about "yoga teacher training cost", so the rest of this guide uses it as the reference point.

What the fee includes

A residential TTC fee in Rishikesh is a package, not a tuition fee. At Swaastik the 200-hour price covers:

• Tuition for the full 200-hour Yoga Alliance curriculum: asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, philosophy and teaching methodology.
• Accommodation for 21 nights on our Tapovan campus, in the room type you choose.
• Two sattvic vegetarian meals a day (brunch and dinner), plus evening chai and herbal tea.
• Course manual and materials, including the yoga mat you use in class.
• Your RYT-200 certificate on graduation. Registering it with Yoga Alliance afterwards is optional and paid separately (see hidden costs).
• Excursions and ceremonies such as the Ganga aarti, a sunrise hike and the opening and closing fire ceremonies.

Two details explain most price differences: how many meals a day are included (two or three; we serve two, brunch and dinner) and whether you sleep on campus or at a partner guesthouse (our students live on our Tapovan campus). Ask any school both questions before comparing numbers.

Budget, mid-range and premium: what the price actually buys

Notice that the tiers are mostly about accommodation and comfort. The 200-hour syllabus is fixed by Yoga Alliance, and the RYT-200 certificate a $440 graduate receives is the same credential a $2,000 graduate receives. What varies is who teaches it and how many students share the teacher. Our batches are capped at 12 students, which is why we can offer dormitory pricing without the 30-plus student halls some budget schools run.

The costs the fee does not cover

Budget roughly $600–$1,200 on top of the course fee for a trip from Europe or North America, less from within India or Asia.

• Flights to Delhi (DEL) or Dehradun (DED): usually the largest single expense.
• Getting to Rishikesh: a taxi from Delhi is around ₹5,000–₹7,000 ($60–$85); from Dehradun airport ₹1,500–₹2,000 ($18–$25). Bus and train are cheaper.
• Indian e-visa: US$40 for the recommended 1-year e-Tourist Visa for most nationalities (how to apply).
• Travel insurance: typically $40–$120 for a month.
• Yoga Alliance registration after you graduate: about $50 to register plus an annual fee of about $65, so roughly $115 in the first year. Only needed if you want the RYT-200 letters after your name.
• Pocket money: ₹5,000–₹10,000 ($60–$120) for cafés, laundry, a local SIM and souvenirs is plenty for three weeks in Tapovan.

How the deposit and payment work

You hold a seat with a 10% deposit, paid online after you register. The remaining 90% is paid in cash or by card when you arrive, so you are never sending the full amount to a school you have not seen. If your dates change, tell us and we move the deposit to a later batch; every batch starts on the 5th and 15th of the month, so there is always one within a fortnight.

Is a cheap yoga teacher training in Rishikesh worth it?

Yes, if the school is registered with Yoga Alliance, the lead teachers are named and hold an E-RYT credential, and reviews mention the actual teachers rather than only the scenery. Rishikesh is cheap because the cost of running a school here is low, not because the training is watered down. What you should walk away from is a price that hides two meals a day, off-campus rooms or a 40-student batch, because those are the things that change what you learn.
